About Sylvia Sherr
I am an artist who has many interests. I paint in oil paint and draw on clay. My work received a Geraldine Dodge Foundation Fellowship and is in the Johnson & Johnson Corporate Art Collection. As a child I received a scholarship through childhood years from The Layton Art School, later part of the Milwaukee Art Museum. I later obtained a BFA from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and Madison and an MA from Kean University, in the Humanities.
Because of the virus I stayed home this summer to be safe, and painted flowers. Figurative art was always my domain, but I loved painting the flowers. I am now showing these flower paintings at Fine Art America. I hope they make others happy as they made me.
I enjoy looking at the art of the people in this group. There are many ways of seeing and I admire the work of others. I anticipate hearing from visitors and look forward to answering any questions about my work. I am 91 years old and still painting. I think I am lucky to have this time to do art.
